How We Review Forex Brokers

Updated April 11, 20264 min read

WiBestBroker is an independent broker safety and review platform. This page explains exactly how we evaluate brokers, what our ratings mean, and how this site makes money.

Our Editorial Process

Every broker review on WiBestBroker follows a structured verification process before publication.

Step 1 — Regulatory verification. We check the broker's licence status directly on the relevant official registries (FCA Register, ASIC Connect, CySEC public register, etc.). We confirm the entity name, licence number, and status. We do not accept brokers' self-reported regulatory claims without verification.

Step 2 — Safety assessment. We evaluate client fund protection: whether funds are segregated, what compensation scheme applies (if any), whether the broker has a clean enforcement record, and whether any regulatory warnings have been issued.

Step 3 — Platform and product review. We assess trading conditions including spreads, commissions, leverage options, available instruments, platform quality (MT4/MT5/proprietary), and account types.

Step 4 — Complaints and reputation. We review publicly available complaints data, regulatory enforcement actions, and user reports from verifiable sources.

Step 5 — Verdict and rating. Based on the above, we assign a safety verdict: Safe, Caution, or Avoid. This verdict is not influenced by commercial relationships.

What Our Ratings Mean

  • Safe — Regulated by a Tier 1 or Tier 2 authority, clean enforcement record, client funds protected, no outstanding warnings.
  • Caution — Regulated but with notable risk factors: offshore entity, limited compensation, past warnings, or unresolved complaints.
  • Avoid — Unregulated, actively warned against by a financial regulator, or confirmed scam operation.

Update Policy

Regulatory status changes. We update broker pages when:

  • A licence is revoked or suspended
  • A regulator issues a public warning
  • Material trading conditions change

Reviews include a "Last Verified" date showing when the regulatory status was most recently checked against official sources.

How This Site Makes Money

WiBestBroker earns revenue through affiliate partnerships with some of the brokers we review. When a user opens an account with a partner broker via a link on this site, we may receive a commission.

This does not influence our verdicts. Brokers we recommend as affiliate partners still receive the same independent evaluation. Partner brokers can receive Caution or Avoid ratings if the evidence warrants it — and we maintain a large database of non-partner scam investigations with no commercial upside.

We disclose all commercial relationships in accordance with applicable advertising standards. If a broker is an affiliate partner, this does not change our methodology or override our safety assessment.

What We Do Not Do

  • We do not accept payment to improve a broker's rating or remove a negative review
  • We do not publish reviews without regulatory verification
  • We do not fabricate user testimonials or trading results
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy of information that has not been independently verified — if data is unavailable, we say so
